What is WoW Forever?
An evidence-led introduction to World of Warcraft: Forever and fast paths to current Beta help.
Quick answer
World of Warcraft: Forever is Blizzard’s announced long-term WoW experience. It sits alongside Modern WoW and WoW Classic, revisits Azeroth with a level-60 cap, and is designed around exploration and rediscovery.
Current Beta Status
Scoped official fixes and current player reports—not a blanket all-clear.
A developer identifies swapped raid/non-raid Secondary Lighting values. Matching settings is a workaround, not a completed fix for all FPS problems.
Last verified October 4, 2026October 8 supports all classes, racial abilities and trinkets; consumables are planned later.
Last verified October 9, 2026The later official supplement revises extra crit Rage to 100%. This published change is separate from independent live measurements.
Last verified October 15, 2026October 8 adds approximately20% kill XP and corrects party calculation; quest-bonus XP remains separate.
Last verified October 9, 2026September 22 and 24 brought scoped display fixes, not a blanket fix for every Mac freeze or performance symptom.
Last verified October 15, 2026Some players could complete Among the Faithful after the September 22 reset. That is not an official quest-specific fix confirmation.
Last verified October 2, 2026Stress test moved to October 21; open access is not Beta entitlement
Blizzard's October 16 correction moves the open server stress event from October 19 to October 21, with East Asian starts on October 22. No active subscription or Beta invitation is needed. Beta temporarily closes around the event; the separate stress realms use temporary characters and a complete wipe. Use the dedicated stress-test guide for the regional clock and separate Battle.net installation. Do not confuse this event with October 27 Name Reservation or November's full launch.
Current status, version and historical scope
Use the problem-specific guide for the current evidence state. Released incoming-Rage and display fixes do not settle every remaining crash, quest or connection report; an older Known Issues entry can also be superseded by a later dated correction. This hub keeps the original problem routes available for history and recurrence checks.
What is confirmed
Blizzard describes Forever as a continuing experience built around a reimagined original Azeroth. Its public material names new zones, more than 1,000 quests, new dungeons and raid content. It is not presented as a replacement for either Modern WoW or WoW Classic.
Need help rather than an overview?
The Beta hub is the quickest route for access, current issues, Mac graphics reports, FPS reports and lag checks. Each answer separates an official statement from a community observation.
Controller & handheld status
The Beta includes a gamepad UI option, and Steam Deck players are testing it. Some report that a full client restart is needed after enabling controller mode, while others still have input or setup problems. These are community Beta reports, not official Steam Deck support. Open the Controller & Steam Deck guide for setup, known issues and evidence.
Current gameplay questions
The October 1 Beta cap is 30, with Excavation Site: Wetlands now available. Dungeon quests' extra XP has been reduced, Warrior crit Rage is revised to 100% in the later supplement, and Druid Shifting Power converts Mana to Energy. Use the focused guides and official update timeline rather than old Beta assumptions.
Launch access and current class questions
Blizzard's launch announcement distinguishes subscription access from optional upgrades and gives an October 21 Beta end. The dedicated release guide flags inconsistent official time-zone wording. Shadow Priest's personal Shadow Weaving and revised Vampiric Embrace have official design sources, while final strength remains unsettled. Use these focused guides rather than assuming forum proposals are live changes.
Legacy and current quest interaction help
Legacy is a long-term account progression system with official unlocks and launch allocation rules. Use its guide separately from Beta menu-access complaints. Current quest help also covers world-object no-loot errors and Halaan's Anchors of Zephras dialogue, without a promised universal reset.
