WoW Forever Titan Relic Missing in Excavation Site Quests
Titan Relic missing after Lost Relic Carry or Elder Knowledge? Compare the two Beta quest chains, avoid risky abandonment and report a reproducible item-loss case.
Quick answer
October 8's official notes say the Titan Relic is returned for Earthen Echo or Prehistoric Prism after Elder Knowledge or Lost Relic Carry. Update and check the exact faction follow-up before repeating the dungeon. This is an official scoped fix, not a documented guaranteed recovery command for every character already missing the item. Do not abandon a quest to force recovery.
FixedView evidence
Try this first
- Update the Beta client and record its displayed build.
- Check your faction's exact follow-up, bags and objective after the preceding hand-in.
- If the relic is still missing, report the current build and prior turn-in history.
What not to do
- Do not abandon the follow-up or farm a second relic as a promised recovery method.
What is still unknown
- A guaranteed retroactive recovery command for every previously blocked character is not documented.
Which relic chain are you on?
The Forever quest records show two distinct routes after a Titan Relic is obtained inside Excavation Site: Wetlands. Check the exact quest in your log before following another faction's turn-in instructions. These Beta records may change with later builds.
Alliance: Lost Relic Carry to Prehistoric Prism
Normal route in the Forever quest records: obtain the Titan Relic inside Excavation Site: Wetlands, take Lost Relic Carry to Prospector Whelgar at the Wetlands excavation site, then take Prehistoric Prism to High Explorer Magellas in Ironforge. Distinguish that intended route from the bug: independent players report the relic disappearing at the first hand-in, leaving the next objective blocked. Those October 4 reports predate the October 8 item-return fix.
Horde: Elder Knowledge to Earthen Echo
Normal route in the separate Beta records: Elder Knowledge takes the relic to Thunder Bluff's Elder Rise; Earthen Echo then lists Muln Earthfury in northwest Mulgore. Check your actual quest text instead of using the Alliance destination. The record's item-loss comment supports a Horde problem report, but the large Prehistoric Prism thread must not be treated as independent verification of every Horde step or recovery attempt.
If the Titan Relic is missing
Check your bags, quest log and current objective, then record whether the relic vanished before or after the first turn-in. Do not abandon the follow-up to try to force another drop: players report the item did not return after doing so or after repeating the dungeon. The official item-return fix is now announced; a separate player-controlled retroactive recovery method remains unverified.
What to include in a Beta bug report
Provide faction, character level and realm, the exact quest name, client build shown in your launcher, whether the first quest was turned in, the inventory state before and after, and any attempted abandon or repeat run. Avoid posting private account information. Link the relevant quest and item records so Blizzard can distinguish the two branches.
Current status
October 8 supersedes the earlier no-official-fix status: Blizzard names both faction follow-ups and says the relic is given back. For an already-blocked character, update, inspect bags and the quest objective, then report any remaining loss with build and turn-in history. The notes do not establish that abandoning or re-running the dungeon is necessary or reliable.
