WoW Forever Beta Updates & Patch Notes
Track the current WoW Forever Beta build, official client updates, confirmed fixes, remaining issues and announced upcoming updates.
Quick answer
The latest reviewed official entry is now October 15, posted October 16 UTC: racial and class changes, gamepad fixes, and a named Anchors of Zephras correction. Earlier weekly entries remain history. Published changes are not independent verification of every tester's build or every outstanding symptom.
OfficialView evidence
Stress test moved to October 21; open access is not Beta entitlement
Blizzard's October 16 correction moves the open server stress event from October 19 to October 21, with East Asian starts on October 22. No active subscription or Beta invitation is needed. Beta temporarily closes around the event; the separate stress realms use temporary characters and a complete wipe. Use the dedicated stress-test guide for the regional clock and separate Battle.net installation. Do not confuse this event with October 27 Name Reservation or November's full launch.
October 16 Cat Form relic-looting hotfix
Kaivax confirms a Beta hotfix for the bug preventing Druids from looting the relics needed to acquire Cat Form. The earlier October 16 reports in the same thread predate that reply and remain historical evidence, not proof the issue is still universally broken. Retest the intended quest interaction on the current client. If it recurs, preserve the quest and report build, relic and time; the statement does not promise a safe abandon/reacquire workaround or repair every Druid mechanic.
October 15 update: current scope and practical distinction
The latest reviewed official entry is now October 15, posted October 16 UTC: racial and class changes, gamepad fixes, and a named Anchors of Zephras correction. Earlier weekly entries remain history. Published changes are not independent verification of every tester's build or every outstanding symptom.
Latest reviewed update: October 8
Blizzard's new-build announcement is published, not merely scheduled. It updates dungeon rewards, opens City of Dalaran for testing and includes systems, class and quest changes. The article does not supply a numeric client build; record the one shown by your own client.
October 8 changes and earlier history
The new notes cover all-class cooldown support, controller input after looting, Beta Legacy points and incoming Rage corrections. September's memory-leak/Mac fixes and October 1's quest-bonus change remain dated history, not the current latest update. Scoped changes do not clear unrelated performance or task failures.
Remaining known issues
Use the October 1 Known Issues list alongside the subsequently amended notes. A promised later-build fix remains Official, not Fixed. The update corrects party-leader world-instance transfers, so the older grouping note should not be presented as an unchanged current diagnosis.
Previous official Beta update
September 22 documented scoped Mac/client fixes; September 24 added the confirmed memory-leak fix, Mac water/artifact corrections and earlier gamepad changes. They are historical updates, superseded by the October 1 change log—not the latest full release.
Legacy system
Blizzard's Legacy overview now documents unlock milestones, account-wide points, three perk trees and launch rewards. The dedicated Legacy guide covers these permanent rules; the announced future Beta grant and current access complaints remain separate from confirmed live progress.
Remaining October 1 known issues
Close-range enemies may parry or block from behind; move slightly farther away rather than treating a miss as proof of a class nerf. Gamepad-mode switching can reset Edit Mode layouts. Oversized client installation, Scroll of Liminal Passage, some threat effects and Mage Research access remain acknowledged issues. A future-build promise is not a current fix.
October 3–4 follow-up: lighting and Australian dialog
Rommax's October 3 developer reply identifies a Secondary Lighting setting mismatch and suggests matching raid/non-raid values; it is not a shipped-fix notice. Kaivax then confirms the Australian social-dialog bug fixed at 04:00 AEDT October 4. Neither statement supplies a new numeric client build or proves every graphics or connection problem resolved.
Legacy testing plan versus live access
The October 1 Legacy notice plans a future 16-point grant for testers. No grant date is inferred from that announcement. The long-term Legacy guide explains official launch rules separately from reports of an inaccessible Beta menu.
October 6 priority realm restarts
Blizzard scheduled restarts at 3 p.m. PDT for chest-restocking issues and announced scoped elevator/transport-disconnect and guild-error fixes. The reviewed notice does not supply a numeric latest build or a universal current outage. Keep player-reported 70205/70245 version numbers attributed, not official current-build metadata.
Looting behavior and task-specific fixes
No-loot creature interaction returns. Separately, the Titan Relic is returned for Earthen Echo / Prehistoric Prism follow-ups. These are different changes: do not mark every cupboard, chest or quest object fixed from the creature-looting entry.
Penance: read healing, damage and Mana separately
The dedicated Penance guide explains the October 8 correction, rank differences and limits of the current player evidence. Use it before treating a solo-damage complaint as a verdict on healing efficiency.
Community reports: communication latency, not a confirmed global outage
Players report mail taking one to two minutes, delayed whispers and group invitations. This is community-reported behavior, not Blizzard's official incident confirmation. Capture realm, region, UTC time, reproduction steps and whether other services are responding before filing a bug report; do not repeatedly send items or abandon a group based only on a transient delay.
October 14: connection reports, not an official outage
October 14 player follow-ups add connection/00328 complaints. They are community evidence, not a new official patch or confirmation that earlier fixes failed everywhere.

For the open server-load event, follow the October21/22 stress-test schedule and Battle.net steps rather than using the superseded October19 date.
For the racial portion of the October 15 notes, continue with the Forever racial replacements and current-build comparison checks; the timeline alone is not a verified best-race recommendation.
