WoW Forever Warrior October 1 Changes
Understand the updated Warrior crit Rage, Fury and Protection talent moves, hit changes and practical Beta checks, including the later official supplement.
Quick answer
The October 1 Warrior update and October 2 UTC supplement revise extra crit Rage to 100%, change Fury hit/Rage talents and rearrange Protection. Berserker Rage becomes available at 30. Recheck your current tree before using an older Beta build plan; these are official published changes, not a new best-spec ranking or complete live formula test.

Why do the notes say both 75% and 100%?
The original 75% line remains visible in the cumulative notes, but the later Warrior supplement explicitly changes it to 100% extra Rage. Use that superseding Warrior statement. Bear Form's separate 75% line concerns Druids. The Rage mechanism guide explains normalization; this page focuses on the patch's practical tree changes.
Arms and shared behavior
Spearing Strike no longer requires a two-handed weapon but requires Battle Stance. Rend and Sunder Armor tap enemies immediately; that is a tagging change, not a claim that Sunder deals damage. Queuing Heroic Strike no longer improves off-hand hit chance. Do not reuse that old queue interaction as a current build recommendation.
Fury: where did off-hand hit move?
Furious Precision, in row 3, supplies 4/7/10% off-hand hit. Dual Wield Specialization no longer grants hit or its old off-hand Rage increase. The supplement reports correcting a bug that applied hit to both weapons. Compare your current talents rather than assuming the older Known Issues snapshot supersedes the newer correction.
Fury: Rage retention and utility
Lingering Rage in row 2 delays out-of-combat decay by 2 seconds per point, up to 10; it is not passive Rage generation. Booming Voice expands Shout area and reduces Rage costs. Unbridled Wrath loses the doubled two-handed gain, Unbridled Rage has a proc correction, and Improved Cleave/Boundless Rage are removed. These names describe different talents—do not collapse them into one effect.
Fury: later talent path
Whirlwind now always uses both weapons; Raging Blows reduces Cleave/Whirlwind cost by 3. Death Wish, rather than Enrage, leads to Flurry; Gore Drinker is a row-6 talent requiring Enrage. Improved Berserker Rage moves to row 5, Berserker Rage unlocks at 30 and Bloodthirst's Attack Power ratio rises to 45%. The current cap does not let you test every high-row combination.
Protection: what moved?
Iron Will and Improved Bloodrage are in row 1; Anticipation and Improved Revenge in row 2; Improved Disarm in row 3; Improved Shield Bash in row 4. Toughness is removed. Blizzard frames these moves as earlier utility and more accessible mid-tree choices, not proof of a final PvP or tanking optimum.
How to compare your updated Warrior
Record the client build, talents, weapon speed and main/off-hand setup. Compare non-crits and crits separately on the same target; then test tagging, hit behavior and out-of-combat decay separately. Keep damage-taken tests separate from outgoing swings. This editorial test checklist is not a Blizzard formula or an independently measured outcome.
Community questions and remaining limits
Players in the supplement thread debate Arms Rage pressure, talent costs and future level-60 scaling. Those are feedback, not official conclusions that a spec is best or ruined. Exact Rage equations, complete live interactions and optimal allocations remain unverified here.
