WoW Forever Release Date, Beta End & Launch Access
Check Blizzard's announced November 4 launch, October 21 Beta end, subscription access and optional upgrade terms, with the published time-zone discrepancy explained.
Quick answer
Blizzard's detailed upgrade announcement lists November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. PST for launch, and October 21 for the Beta end. Launch access is included with an active WoW subscription or game time; upgrade bundles are optional. One official overview still says PDT in its opening paragraph, so use the detailed PST wording cautiously rather than treating a conflicting regional countdown as confirmed.

Stress test moved to October 21; open access is not Beta entitlement
Blizzard's October 16 correction moves the open server stress event from October 19 to October 21, with East Asian starts on October 22. No active subscription or Beta invitation is needed. Beta temporarily closes around the event; the separate stress realms use temporary characters and a complete wipe. Use the dedicated stress-test guide for the regional clock and separate Battle.net installation. Do not confuse this event with October 27 Name Reservation or November's full launch.
Release date and the PST/PDT discrepancy
The detailed pre-purchase announcement and the overview's purchase section use 3 p.m. PST on November 4. The overview's opening instead says PDT. These labels differ by an hour, so this page flags the inconsistency rather than silently combining them. Check Blizzard's launch notice before arranging a time-sensitive session; no extra local opening times are inferred here.
When does the Beta end?
The announced Beta window runs from September 17 through October 21, 2026. The reviewed announcement does not give a precise closing hour. A Beta invitation is not itself a promise of continued access through launch; follow the access terms for the phase you are entering.
Subscription access versus optional upgrades
A WoW subscription or game time includes basic Forever launch access. Heroic and Epic upgrades add benefits rather than create a mandatory base purchase. Epic includes Beta access and 30 days of game time beginning November 4. Compare the official product terms with what you already own before buying anything.
Name reservation and Invite a Friend
Upgrade owners can reserve up to three names during October 27–November 3, subject to availability. Invite a Friend emails begin October 20; the announced launch invitation window is November 4–11 for eligible friends without active subscription/game time. These launch invitations are not Beta invitations. Check Blizzard's detailed eligibility terms rather than assuming every gift or purchase qualifies.
What should you do before launch?
Editorial checklist: check whether your account has active subscription time for launch, distinguish Beta and launch client access, and bookmark the official notices. Use the installation guide for account/client troubleshooting rather than purchasing an optional package as an unverified fix for a missing launcher entry.
Will Beta characters or progress carry over?
The reviewed launch and purchase announcements do not establish a progress-transfer policy here. Do not treat a reserved name, test character or community assumption as proof that levels, items or currencies will carry over. Wait for an explicit Blizzard statement on those specific questions.
