Quick answer

Campaign Early Access is live for eligible MW4 digital purchases, confirmed by Activision on October 16. DMZ remains scheduled for October 20 and full release for October 23. The Xbox on PC missing Campaign-button issue is officially addressed; restart the game if it persists, then check the exact purchase, account and installed mode. Game Pass alone is not MW4 launch entitlement.

Campaign is live; an Xbox on PC launch-button issue is addressed

Activision's October 16 release notice confirms Campaign Early Access is live for eligible Standard Digital or Vault Edition preorders/purchases. It names Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PS5, Battle.net, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. Its Known Issues page separately says an issue preventing some Xbox on PC installations from showing the Campaign launch button has been addressed; remaining affected players should restart the game. This is not a promise that every locked mode, storefront entitlement or crash has been fixed.

October 15 clarification: purchase, Campaign and DMZ are different gates

Activision says launch requires a separate purchase, not a Game Pass subscription. Digital preorders receive Campaign access starting October 16 and DMZ starting October 20, subject to platform, time-zone and outage caveats. Full release remains October 23. A passed calendar date or finished preload does not prove every account/mode unlocked.

Low storage or unsupported hardware? Use requirements. An unavailable download needs the preload and entitlement branch. Security checks belong in the TPM guide, not a speculative crash workaround. Drivers and shader preparation have a separate checklist.

Before paying for extra hardware or disk space, compare the MW4 PC requirements and SSD storage tiers rather than assuming a completed download proves your PC meets the prerequisites.

PC storefronts and pre-release evidence

The PC announcement lists Steam, Battle.net and Xbox on PC. This cluster addresses those PC preparations, not a promise that an entitlement transfers between storefronts. No final-release crash, best-build or measured FPS claims have been verified here.

For a locked mode, first distinguish the MW4 preload, Campaign and DMZ access dates from the license on the storefront account you actually used.
