Deadlock · EVIDENCE-LED PLAYER HELP
How to Get Deadlock Access & Accept an Invite
Understand Deadlock friend-invite access, Steam notifications, limited-account uncertainty and missing-invite checks without paying unofficial sellers.
Quick answer
Use a trusted friend who already has Deadlock access, then inspect your own Steam playtest notifications and library. Valve's Store confirms limited invite access, not a public download or a delivery deadline. Community reports describe variable waits; never pay an unofficial seller, share credentials or mistake a normal friend request for the actual playtest invitation.
Separate requesting, receiving and accepting
A friend request only connects accounts. Ask the known playtester whether the game invitation was actually sent. Community instructions describe accepting the playtest notification in Steam and then finding the game in the library; treat these UI details as community guidance, not a guaranteed immediate grant.
- Use your own genuine Steam client/account, not a login form supplied by an invitation seller.
- Ask the known sender to confirm the intended Steam account and submitted invitation.
- Read Steam notifications or your account's playtest-invitation page. Accept only the genuine Deadlock invitation.
- Check the same account's library; record a missing invitation separately from an install/launch failure.

Limited accounts and missing invitations
Steam has a separate limited-account policy. Community invite posts claim eligibility restrictions and different delivery delays, but this check does not independently verify a current Deadlock-specific rule for every limited account. Read the actual Steam/account message; do not spend money merely because a stranger promises it guarantees access.

Waiting is not a universal network workaround
Record when the trusted sender submitted the invite and the exact client message. There is no official fixed minutes-or-hours SLA in the reviewed Store material. Do not repeatedly solicit or buy invites, delete saves or switch accounts as an invented repair. Use official account support for account restrictions.
Once access actually appears in the correct library, follow the first-match preparation guide instead of repeatedly changing your account or network.
