Ocarina of Time Remake Controls

Nintendo-confirmed movement, camera and ocarina input for the 2026 Switch 2 remake, without guessing the final button map.

Quick answer

The Switch 2 remake adds button commands for jumping and running, and the Right Stick controls the camera. Nintendo also says learned ocarina melodies can be played with buttons or hummed near the system microphone. A full default-button chart has not been confirmed here.

Movement and view

Nintendo explicitly names freer jumping and running and a modernized camera controlled by the Right Stick. That is the useful confirmed difference for returning N64 and 3DS players; avoid assuming an exact jump or dash button before the release controls are documented.

Playing the ocarina

Nintendo says learned melodies can use button input or the Switch 2 built-in microphone. The microphone option is an alternative to button play, not evidence that an external instrument is required.

If you are planning a controller layout

Wait for the final in-game control menu before copying an N64 or 3DS button chart. The 3DS edition used its own Circle Pad, touch inventory and gyro features; those are not a Switch 2 control map.

Physical ocarinas are separate products, not required controls

Nintendo announces a playable instrument and a HORI electric ocarina as separately sold products. The game can recognize a learned tune played or hummed near the Switch2 microphone; this does not make either product mandatory. Keep button input, microphone recognition and the phone app's virtual instrument separate. No exact microphone calibration or full final button chart is invented here.
