Gears of War: E-Day · EVIDENCE-LED PLAYER HELP
Gears E-Day Horde Siege Explained
Official launch Horde Siege structure: twelve players, three squads, mission types, class roles, resources, progression and extraction versus classic Horde.
Quick answer
Horde Siege is E-Day's expanded cooperative PvE mode: twelve players form three squads of four across Kalona. Choose Assault, Breacher, Marksman or Medic, complete missions, build resources and extract. Use launch tuning notes rather than treating old Beta costs and damage values as final.
Current status: October 14 patch and remaining reports
October 14 addresses Horde extraction not ending after squad members leave, the Friendly Fire Stim Vaporizer revive case, and several R.I.G./event problems. These are named fixes, not a claim every Horde failure is repaired. Record objective, map and squad departure timing if the updated game still fails.
October 5 Horde Siege fixes
The released update addresses some Siege Blitz Secure objectives that could not complete and an absent extraction helicopter in Plaza Ruins Blitz. These are scoped fixes, not changes to the twelve-player structure or a guarantee against every extraction problem. Update before reproducing a remaining failure.

Twelve players, three squads and a city under siege
The official mode overview places three four-player squads in a shared Kalona battlefield with three districts. Your squad pursues objectives while cooperating against the wider threat. This is not simply a renamed five-player classic Horde match.

Mission types and map objectives
Blitz, Siege and Horde offer different pacing; the Horde mission uses ten waves. RIG objectives include securing, calibrating, repairing and defending. Launch notes retuned repair missions, invasions and commander encounters, so an old Beta strategy is not a guaranteed launch rule.
Class roles
Assault, Breacher, Marksman and Medic are the official four selections. Think of direct offense, close-range pressure, ranged precision and support as selection cues—not a launch-tier ranking. Team composition, class upgrades and player execution affect the run.

Energy, Weapon Parts and progression
Energy funds supply/fortification choices for the squad; Weapon Parts support progression. The official overview explains retained rewards when at least one squad extracts. Launch tuning reduced some Weapon Part income and adjusted energy costs and squad perks; do not copy Beta values into a final economy table.
Extraction and matchmaking
Join the Horde Siege playlist with your squad and cooperate with the other squads. Completing objectives and extracting are distinct goals; surviving long enough to leave matters for rewards. Exact queue times, guaranteed bots/backfill and regional population were not established by these sources.

What differs from classic Horde?
The bigger shared map, multiple squads, mission selection, resource decisions and extraction distinguish Siege from a traditional linear wave-survival run. Any Beta-only number that has not been confirmed at launch should be treated as Beta behavior requiring verification, not a permanent rule.
