Minecraft Dungeons II on Steam Deck
Check Minecraft Dungeons II Steam Deck support after the October 1 update, remaining keyboard limits, controls, online testing and Linux distinctions.
Quick answer
Mojang's October 1 Steam announcement says Dungeons II should now be playable on Steam Deck, with issues such as the missing on-screen keyboard still possible. Further work toward full Steam Deck verification was announced—not completed verification. Update before following obsolete launch-day DLL workarounds. Steam Deck playability does not certify every Linux distribution.

October 7 hotfix: check rollout on your platform
Mojang's 1.1.2.0 hotfix rolls out first on Steam; Windows and Xbox follow later. It addresses gameplay/client-server crashes, a specific Prime Enchanter/TNT collision crash, exiting-online crashes and Ultra-quality blur. It does not announce full Steam Deck Verified status or a universal performance fix.

Pinned reply versus playable versus Verified
The pinned feedback response says the team is working on Steam Deck support. The later October 1 Steam announcement says the game should now be playable, with on-screen keyboard issues and further verification work remaining. This review found no later publisher/Valve confirmation of full Verified status. Neither statement certifies ordinary Linux or the separate Minecraft Launcher installation.

Current support: playable, not a blanket Verified claim
The October 1 publisher note supersedes the initial launch incompatibility. It explicitly names an on-screen keyboard limitation and future verification improvements. That is narrower than promising every input, account screen or Proton configuration will work.

Controls and a clean starting point
Use the updated Steam installation first. Start with its supplied controller layout and note any text-entry failure separately. If an old community DLL replacement is present, use Steam's built-in file verification rather than downloading another DLL. No specific Proton override is established here as an official requirement.
- Check Steam for updates and verify files if the installation was modified.
- Test movement, menus and text entry separately.
- Record SteamOS/Proton version and controller layout before changing one setting.
- Report a blocked keyboard or account screen with its exact message.
Performance and online checks
This guide does not promise an FPS target from someone else's device. Compare the same area with a fixed cap and one graphics change. Test login, character access and joining a supported session while connected; do not treat a single offline-launch result as a confirmed universal offline rule.

Steam Deck versus ordinary Linux
A publisher's Steam Deck announcement is device-specific. Different distributions, drivers, launchers and Proton versions remain separate tests. Do not install third-party authentication patches or share stored tokens to reproduce another player's setup.
